Mittens & Memories 2016

UPDATE – Bernadette raised $941 at the market on December 3rd.  She is still selling the remaining mittens so once again she will hit her goal of $1000 that will go to the James Mattatall Memorial Award at NSCC.  Way to go Bernadette!!!

December 17, 2016 marks the 5th year anniversary of James’ tragic death.

Every year is a difficult year but 5 years seems like a milestone in living this nightmare.  Through the fog we find our various beacons that help us daily through this struggle.  One of them is Bernadette Lale and her husband Ed MacDormand.  For the fifth year in a row Bernadette has been knitting mittens to sell at the Alderney Market for the James Mattatall Memorial Award at NSCC.  As with the warmth her mittens give to those who wear them, Bernadette’s continued efforts to raise money for the endowment fund embraces us with her warmth and love at this difficult time of year.  Thank you Bernadette for your amazing gift of love and thank you Ed for the beautiful flyers you create for us each year.

Sale date is Saturday, December 3, 2016 and the doors open at 8.00 AM. Bernadette will be there until 1:00 PM. As always, her goal is to raise $1000 for the award at NSCC. Please like this page on Facebook and stop down to the market to buy a pair of mittens in memory of James.
